We have all heard the phrase, “Be yourself! Everyone else is taken”. And it is very true. Be who you are! If you don’t like who you are, change.
I’ve noticed throughout my life, I have changed who I am to become better. I became stronger and a better multi-tasker when I became a mom and a wife. When I went back to work full-time, I had to change the way I did things and handled my busier schedule. I have had to work on being more outgoing due to my current level of involvement at my church. So I am consistently improving myself.
I have had to work on being more dedicated and determined and intentional with my time for myself. I want to improve myself for myself and myself alone. Everyone around me gets the benefit of my self-improvement but it all originates with me and my desire to do it for me.
Who are you trying to change for? If it’s not yourself, you will most likely fail. It’s the wrong motivation. To change for someone else, to fit into their definition of what you should be, will set you up for failure. People’s ideas change. My ideas for myself are constantly evolving. So how can I rely on someone else to tell me what or who I should be when their ideas will change.
Be you! Find yourself and try to be the best version of yourself.
